I joined the Ha Lab in the Computational Biology Program at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center as a postdoctoral fellow in July 2026, and plan to focus on advancing cfDNA-focused liquid biopsy for metastatic bladder cancer profiling and preeclampsia risk prediction.

I completed my BSc in Computer Science (minor in Microbiology and Immunology) at the University of British Columbia, and while working in Dr. Ken Harder’s lab I was introduced to profiling the tumor microenvironment from high-dimensional molecular data using the AOM-DSS mouse model of inflammation-induced colorectal cancer.

This experience shaped my choice to pursue my PhD in Immunology at Johns Hopkins where I studied under the mentorship of Drs. Elana Fertig and Genevieve Stein-O’Brien, graduating in Spring 2025, and spent a subsequent year as a postdoctoral researcher under Dr. Fertig after she moved her lab to the Institute for Genome Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. My PhD and early postdoctoral work focused on computational analysis and modeling tools for pancreatic tumor microenvironment multi-omics data, most notably non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and agent-based modeling (ABM).

My research interests include the diversity of human tumor microenvironments and how they can be monitored and disrupted in human patients, the immunology of pregnancy, and algorithm development for identifying signals in high-dimensional data, which is what drew me to a lab where I can broaden and deepen my training in these areas and grow as a researcher.

In my free time I love to do nail art, watch films, learn about history, and spend time with my cats and loved ones. I love yoga and pilates, and will do it at any time for any reason. My fiancé also hails from the Pacific Northwest, and we are so excited to be in Seattle!
